Our wine dinner series was never intended to be linear in their cultural inspiration or in the pairings that we arrive at. This next dinner is about the impact Japanese culture has had on west coast cuisine over the past 125 years. The Little Tokyo Historic District in Los Angeles is the oldest Japanese enclave in the United States. The first restaurant to open here was in 1885, and this community has been a bastion of Japanese culture since then. Using this district as the food inspiration, we are going to look to the rest of the California for the wine component. This will be a unique experience, marrying the rice & fish centric Japanese food culture with the Golden Coast's wine indulgence.
