Sake Masterclass with Josh Neiderer of Joto Sake

It is shaped by the rice, the water, the climate, the brewer, the region, and generations of Japanese tradition. This masterclass is an invitation to slow down, taste with intention, and explore sake as both a beverage and a craft. Join us for a guided tasting and masterclass with Josh Neiderer of Joto Sake, focused on the history, geography, and ritual of Japanese sake. Throughout the evening, guests will learn how sake production has evolved over time, how regional brewing traditions continue to influence style, and why sake can express such a wide range of character from one prefecture to another. Together, we will explore how place shapes the pour. From bright, clean, and delicate styles to richer, earthier, more savory expressions, this class will look at the elements that give sake its depth and personality. Guests will gain a better understanding of how rice, water, climate, fermentation, and local culture all contribute to aroma, texture, body, and flavor. Beyond tasting, the evening will also focus on the art of proper sake service. Temperature, vessel choice, pouring technique, and presentation can all change the way sake is experienced. This class will offer practical guidance on how to serve sake with more confidence, care, and intention, whether at the table, for guests, or at home. Welcome spring at Spencer & Lynn with Anthony Caporale for an evening dedicated to gin, its history, its botanicals, and three timeless cocktails. Join us at Spencer & Lynn for The Spring Gin Session, the next installment of our recurring Cocktail Masterclass series with celebrated cocktail and spirits author Anthony Caporale. This class is more than a cocktail lesson. It is a guided discovery of gin itself. Anthony will walk guests through what gin is, where it comes from, how it evolved, and what makes it one of the most distinctive and versatile spirits behind the bar. Guests will learn about the botanicals that give gin its signature character, the role of juniper, the difference between styles, and why gin has remained at the center of so many iconic cocktails. From there, we'll move into the glass. Anthony will guide the group through three legendary gin cocktails, each one showing a different side of the spirit. You'll learn how to balance citrus and sweetness, how bubbles change a drink, why temperature matters, and what separates a good Martini from a great one. We'll begin with the Bee's Knees, a bright and honeyed classic that feels just right for spring. Next comes the French 75, crisp, sparkling, and celebratory. Finally, we'll settle into the Classic Martini, clean, cold, elegant, and endlessly personal. This is a relaxed, welcoming class for curious drinkers, home cocktail makers, gin lovers, and anyone who wants to better understand what they are sipping. Come ready to learn, taste, ask questions, and leave with a few new tricks for your home bar.
