Returns & Exchanges Policy

At Spencer & Lynn, we stand behind the bottles we bring into the shop. Because many of our products are alcoholic beverages, small-production items, and perishable provisions, returns are handled differently than general retail. If something is wrong with your order, please contact us and we'll do our best to make it right.

Alcoholic Beverages

All sales of wine, spirits, beer, cider, and other alcoholic beverages are final, except in the following situations:

  • The product is flawed, corked, spoiled, oxidized, or otherwise unsound
  • The bottle is damaged, leaking, or broken
  • You receive the wrong item, wrong size, or wrong quantity
  • Your order is damaged in transit or delivered in error
  • The product is subject to a manufacturer or government recall

Reporting an Issue

For damaged, leaking, broken, missing, or incorrect items, please contact us within 3 days of pickup or delivery.

For suspected bottle flaws, please contact us promptly after opening and keep the bottle, closure, and remaining contents until we've reviewed the issue. We may ask you to bring the bottle back to the store for evaluation.

When reaching out, please include:

  • Your name and order number or receipt
  • Photos of the bottle and packaging, when applicable
  • A brief description of the issue

Approved Resolutions

Once we review the issue, we may offer one of the following, at our discretion and where permitted by law:

  • Replacement of the same item, if available
  • Exchange for a comparable item
  • Store credit
  • Refund to the original payment method

Original shipping or delivery charges are refunded only when the issue was caused by our error or confirmed transit damage.

Items Not Eligible for Return or Refund

We do not accept returns or exchanges for:

  • Alcoholic beverages returned for taste preference or change of mind
  • Opened or partially consumed bottles without evidence of a quality issue
  • Differences between website images and current vintage, label design, or packaging, unless the item delivered is materially different from what was ordered
  • Bottles with normal minor cosmetic wear, sediment, or natural variation that does not affect quality
  • Sale, clearance, or final-sale items
  • Special orders, allocated bottles, or limited-release items
  • Gift cards
  • Event tickets, class reservations, tasting reservations, or wine club charges, except in the case of cancellation by Spencer & Lynn or a confirmed billing error
  • Perishable provisions, including cheese, charcuterie, and prepared foods

Non-Alcoholic Goods & Store Merchandise

Unopened, unused, non-perishable non-alcoholic items and store merchandise may be returned within 14 days of purchase with proof of purchase. Items must be in original saleable condition. Approved returns may be issued as store credit or a refund to the original payment method. Final-sale items are excluded.

Shipping, Local Delivery & Dockside Delivery

An adult age 21 or older must be available to receive alcohol deliveries.

Please inspect shipped, local delivery, and dockside orders as soon as they arrive.

Do not ship alcohol back to us unless we have authorized the return first.

Orders returned because of an incorrect address, refused delivery, failed delivery attempts, or the absence of a 21+ recipient may be subject to reshipping charges, return fees, or store credit only.
