New England Brewing Co's Coriolis
Woodbridge, CT - 8.2% ABV
One of our favorite local breweries is Woodbridge, CT's New England Brewing Company, more commonly referred to as "NEBCO" by the Connecticut beer community. They are a small, laid-back brewery, and truly have been since their founding in 2001, which is basically ancient in craft beer terms. We love them because they generously give back to the community in many different ways each year, and they've been leading, lifting, and helping countless newer brewing projects over the decades. Also their beer is delicious. You may know them from their hits (Sea Hag, G-Bot, Fuzzy Baby Ducks to name a few), but they literally have a rolodex of incredible beers in every style.
Coriolis, a double IPA, is one of their single-hopped creations, featuring 100% Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand. It's nice, bright, and aromatic, with fruity flavors of white grape, mango, and gooseberry. And yes, the label image is of a Hobbit holding a hop vine while being eaten by a T-Rex. Sometimes it's better not to ask why - the creative genius of resident artist Craig Gilbert simply cannot be contained nor explained. Just drink it, it's good! (really good)
