Schofferhofer Pomegranate
Frankfurt, Germany - 2.5% abv
Enjoy this bright, sweet, fruity beer as the back label suggests, ice-cold and straight out of the bottle. We’re happy to now introduce you to the ultimate brunch beer: Schofferhofer Pomegranate, half Hefeweizen beer and half natural juice. Back in the 1400s, Schofferhofer brewery made history brewing the first Hefeweizen (a traditional German wheat beer) outside of Bavaria. Centuries later, they’re continuing to forge their own path with three of the very few commercially available radlers, their pomegranate, grapefruit, and passionfruit beers.
We thought it’d be fun to coincide this beer’s placement in the advent calendar with the approximate pomegranate harvest. Pomegranate’s short season peaks in the winter with pomegranate crops ripening just in time for the holidays, so has long been associated with the season as a symbol of prosperity and good fortune. A super-low alcohol content of only 2.5%abv makes this an ideal beer for enjoying with brunch, lunch, or anytime, without slowing you down or giving your day that metaphorical flat-tire. Conversely, you could turn it up a notch and use this beer in mixed drinks, like in a margarita with Blanco Tequila, or splashed in a spritz with dry Cava. However, or whenever, you drink this unique beer, we hope it brings you good luck this holiday season.
