Beer Advent

2022

We hope you enjoy the beers we have put together for our 2022 Beer Advent! We have sought out new, limited and seasonal beers to share with you throughout December. We thank you for your support of our local shop and would love for you to tag us on Instagram with your favorites.

We've represented many of the best cans and bottles from our local craft beer scene, alongside some ancient, traditional brews from across the planet, and even included some new and unexpected flavors and styles as well. With an array of IPAs, a smattering of sours, some crisp clean lagers, some more obscure and nerdy lagers, plus all the roasty malty dark beers to keep you cozy this holiday season.

Cheers and Happy Holidays!

Marlowe Artisinal Ales Despite All Odds

North Haven, CT / 8% ABV

From the massive Twelve Percent brewing facility comes Zach Ross' once-a-year double IPA. It's easy to see why Marlowe (named after Zach's grandfather) is on the short list of best brewers in CT. As an advocate of delicacy and balance rather than bold and brash, this double IPA is a perfect example of how to convert non-beer drinkers into lovers of hops.

Soft and approachable, with a nose of tropical fruit and the suggestion of pine bitterness, the palate of this beer is similarly aligned. The mango is evident on the palate, with some lime zest making a star appearance. Tropical fruit, after all, gets better in the winter! Hiding its 8% ABV well, this 12 ounce package is pure hoppiness in a can.
