Tasting Note:
“Les Chevaux” is a rounded, approachable Médoc with dark berry fruit, ripe plum, and gentle oak spice. Equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot bring together savory structure and generous fruit, with supple tannins and a smooth, balanced finish. There is enough substance for grilled steak or roast lamb without demanding years in the cellar. A satisfying dinner-table Bordeaux, particularly good with roast chicken, mushrooms, or a wedge of aged cheddar.
About the Producer:
Château Patache d’Aux is a historic estate in Bégadan, in the northern Médoc, with roots dating to 1660. Its vineyards span limestone plateaus and gravelly sites near the Gironde estuary, and the property follows HVE-certified sustainable farming. “Les Chevaux” is the estate’s younger-vine second wine, made with a shorter élevage to emphasize fruit and supple texture. It offers an accessible introduction to the property while retaining the structure and savory character of classic Médoc Bordeaux.
The same Cabernet Sauvignon, from Bordeaux. At $27, it is $9 more.
