Tasting Note:
Hermann J. Wiemer’s 2024 “Flower Day” Riesling is a beautifully expressive Finger Lakes white that combines delicate aromatics with remarkable freshness and mineral precision. White peach, green apple, Meyer lemon, lime zest, jasmine, and citrus blossom lead into a vibrant, finely textured palate. Bright acidity and a subtle saline edge balance the wine’s generous fruit, while a long, mineral-driven finish adds depth and elegance. Floral, energetic, and wonderfully versatile, with the freshness to shine alongside seafood and the structure to complement richer dishes.

About the Producer:
Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard is one of the Finger Lakes’ most influential wineries, founded in 1979 by German-born Hermann Wiemer on the western shore of Seneca Lake. A pioneer of vinifera grape growing in New York, Wiemer helped establish the region’s reputation for world-class Riesling. Today, Fred Merwarth and Oskar Bynke lead the estate, continuing its commitment to meticulous vineyard management, organic and biodynamic farming, and minimal-intervention winemaking. Their wines are celebrated for their purity, vibrant acidity, and remarkable expression of the Finger Lakes’ glacial soils and cool climate. “Flower Day” reflects the estate’s biodynamic philosophy, highlighting the aromatic elegance and mineral character of Riesling grown along Seneca Lake.
