Spirit Type: Amaro (Fruit-Forward Bitter Liqueur)
Batch/Edition: Daytrip – Small Batch
Bottle Size: 750mL
Alcohol: 19% ABV
Producer: Matchbook Distilling Co.
Country: United States
Region: New York – North Fork (Greenport)
Base/Build: North Fork strawberry wine and strawberry eau-de-vie macerated with nettle, quassia, jasmine, rose, and nutmeg fruit; lightly sweetened and bottled as an amaro
Production: Local strawberry harvest fermented into wine; a portion distilled to eau-de-vie; botanicals infused before gentle filtration and bottling
Tasting Note:
Juicy, floral, and refreshingly bitter. Ripe strawberry leads, layered with jasmine and rose perfume, green herbal lift from nettle, and a woody-tonic bite of quassia. Silky texture with medium sweetness balanced by bright acidity and a clean, lightly pithy finish. Equally delicious over ice or in spritzy aperitivo builds.
How to Enjoy:
On the rocks with a squeeze of lime; topped with soda for a quick spritz; in an Americano riff; or split-based with mezcal and grapefruit as a bright, smoky highball.
About the Producer:
Founded in Greenport, NY, Matchbook Distilling partners closely with local farms to craft seasonal, terroir-expressive spirits. The Daytrip series puts fruit at center stage and balances it with thoughtful botanicals for modern, cocktail-friendly amari that blur the lines between aperitif and digestivo—vivid, fresh, and unmistakably of the North Fork.
