Tasting Note:
Tenuta di Carleone’s 2023 Chianti Classico is a beautifully expressive Sangiovese that combines the elegance of Radda’s high-elevation vineyards with remarkable freshness and mineral precision. Wild cherry, raspberry, red currant, violet, rose petal, dried herbs, and subtle earthy spice lead into a vibrant, medium-bodied palate. Fine tannins and lively acidity provide structure without heaviness, while a distinctive stony mineral character carries through a long, savory finish. Refined and energetic, with the depth and balance to reward additional time in bottle.

About the Producer:
Tenuta di Carleone is one of Chianti Classico’s most exciting contemporary estates, located in Radda in Chianti, in the heart of Tuscany. Founded in 2012 by Austrian entrepreneur Karl Egger, the estate is led by winemaker Sean O’Callaghan, whose decades of experience in Tuscany have made him one of the region’s most respected voices. Nicknamed “Il Guercio,” O’Callaghan champions organic and biodynamic farming, indigenous fermentations, whole-cluster vinification, and minimal intervention, producing wines that emphasize freshness, purity, and a transparent expression of Sangiovese. The estate’s high-elevation vineyards and traditional cellar techniques yield wines of remarkable elegance, structure, and longevit
