Tasting Note:
“68” brings together Barbera’s juicy fruit and Ruché’s distinctive floral perfume. Expect berry and plum notes, rose petals, and a lightly earthy edge. The style is fresh and expressive, balancing generous fruit with a pleasantly rustic character rather than heavy oak or polish. Give it a little air and serve slightly cool with mushroom pasta, roast chicken, or a good pizza.

About the Producer:
Nadia Verrua runs Cascina Tavijn in Scurzolengo, where her family has farmed since 1908. Working organically, she champions Monferrato’s local grapes, particularly Barbera, Grignolino, and Ruché, with spontaneous fermentations and minimal cellar intervention. “68” is a family tribute: sei, Italian for six, nods to her uncle Sisto, while otto, eight, references her father Ottavio. Their faces share the yellow hat on the label, illustrated by family friend Gianluca Cannizzo.
