Tasting Note:
Domaine Rollin’s 2023 Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge is a fresh, elegant village Burgundy with ripe raspberry, red cherry, strawberry, cranberry, violet, warm spice, and a subtle chalky-mineral edge. The 2023 vintage gives the wine generous red fruit and soft charm, while Pernand’s cooler, stony character keeps it lifted and precise. The palate is silky and medium-bodied, with rounded tannins, bright acidity, and a clean, savory finish. Classic, honest Côte de Beaune Pinot Noir for roast chicken, mushrooms, charcuterie, pork, or simple bistro-style cooking.
About the Producer:
Domaine Rollin Père et Fils is a family estate based in Pernand-Vergelesses, with nearly 14 hectares across five Côte de Beaune communes. The domaine began estate bottling under Maurice Rollin in the 1950s and is now run by the next generations, with Rémi and Simon Rollin carrying the family’s traditional, terroir-focused style forward. The wines are known for purity, freshness, restrained oak, and strong value within Burgundy, especially from the often-overlooked village of Pernand-Vergelesses.
