Tasting Note:
Pierre Girardin’s 2023 Pommard “Éclat de Calcaire” captures the appellation’s signature power while maintaining remarkable finesse. Aromas of black cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, violet, blood orange, crushed stone, baking spice, and subtle forest floor unfold with air. The palate is concentrated yet vibrant, with silky tannins, bright acidity, and the mineral precision that defines Girardin’s wines. While unmistakably Pommard in structure, it shows an elegance and transparency that make it approachable young while rewarding additional cellaring.

About the Producer:
Pierre-Vincent Girardin represents the thirteenth generation of one of Burgundy’s oldest winegrowing families. After launching Domaine Pierre Girardin in 2017, he quickly established himself as one of Burgundy’s brightest young talents through meticulous organic farming, careful vineyard selection, restrained use of new oak, and an obsessive focus on purity and terroir expression. His wines combine classical Burgundian structure with remarkable energy and precision, earning acclaim for their transparency and age-worthiness.
