Tasting Note:
The 2024 Albahra is zippy and ultra-drinkable—dark-fruited from Garnacha Tintorera yet nervy and aromatic thanks to Moravia Agria. Think black cherry, red currant, and pomegranate layered with hibiscus, pepper, and dried thyme. Medium-light in body with crunchy tannins and a cool, stony line of limestone minerality. Serve with a light chill and pour alongside jamón, chorizo, tomato-garlic toasts, or grilled veggies and mushrooms.
About the Producer:
Envínate (“wine yourself”) is a four-friend collective working tiny, characterful vineyards across Spain. Laura Ramos and José Martínez lead the Castilian projects, farming high-elevation limestone plots and keeping the cellar touch minimal—native ferments, gentle macerations, neutral vessels, and very little sulfur. The goal is clarity of place. Albahra displays Almansa’s altitude and chalk into a fresh, red-fruited, effortlessly charming table wine.
