Tasting Note:
Olivier Morin’s 2022 “Constance” is a beautifully expressive Pinot Noir from the limestone-rich hillsides of Chitry, just outside Chablis. Bright red cherry, wild raspberry, cranberry, violet, and subtle earthy spice lead into a fresh, finely textured palate. Silky tannins and vibrant acidity balance the generous fruit of the 2022 vintage, while a distinctive chalky minerality carries through a long, savory finish. Elegant and approachable, this is classic northern Burgundy Pinot Noir with plenty of character and charm.
About the Producer:
Domaine Olivier Morin is a small family estate in Chitry-le-Fort, in Burgundy’s Auxerrois region, just southwest of Chablis. Olivier Morin returned to his family’s vineyards in the early 1990s after studying winemaking in Beaune, focusing on the region’s traditional varieties, particularly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Working with careful vineyard management, indigenous fermentations, and restrained oak, Morin produces wines that emphasize freshness, mineral precision, and the distinctive limestone terroir of northern Burgundy. “Constance” is one of his signature Pinot Noir bottlings, offering an elegant, expressive alternative to the more famous appellations farther south.
