Tasting Note:
Oltretorrente’s 2024 Colli Tortonesi Rosso is a lively, expressive Piedmont red that brings together Barbera’s vibrant acidity and Dolcetto’s generous fruit. Juicy red cherry, blackberry, raspberry, violet, and subtle earthy spice lead into a fresh, medium-bodied palate. Gentle tannins and a savory mineral edge keep the wine balanced and wonderfully drinkable. A versatile, food-friendly red that is equally at home with pasta, roast chicken, or a slight chill alongside charcuterie.

About the Producer:
Oltretorrente is the small, family-run estate of Chiara Penati and Michele Coniglio, established in 2010 in Paderna, in southeastern Piedmont. The couple farms organically, working with old vines and traditional local varieties, including Timorasso, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Cortese. Their approach emphasizes biodiversity, indigenous fermentations, and minimal intervention, producing wines that reflect the distinctive limestone-rich hills of the Colli Tortonesi. Their Derthona showcases Timorasso’s remarkable ability to combine texture, mineral precision, and long aging potential.
