Tasting Note:
Rare Breed Rye is powerful, spicy, and remarkably well-balanced for its proof. The nose opens with cracked black pepper, orange peel, and baking spice, followed by hints of caramel and toasted oak. On the palate, bold rye spice leads the charge—think cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg—layered with dark honey, vanilla, and a touch of cocoa. Despite the intensity, the whiskey remains surprisingly smooth and structured, finishing long and warming with lingering spice, citrus oil, and oak char. A few drops of water bring out additional sweetness and aromatic complexity.

About the Producer:
Wild Turkey is one of Kentucky’s most iconic distilleries, guided for decades by master distillers Jimmy and Eddie Russell. Known for long fermentation times, low barrel-entry proof, and a commitment to traditional methods, Wild Turkey produces whiskeys with depth, character, and consistency. The Rare Breed line showcases the distillery’s boldest expressions, and the Barrel Proof Rye highlights Wild Turkey’s distinctive rye recipe at full strength—unfiltered, uncompromising, and built for serious whiskey drinkers.
