Tasting Notes

Bright ruby with violet flashes. Aromas of wild blackberry, juicy cherry, and crushed pomegranate mingle with Mediterranean herbs and a hint of black pepper. Medium-bodied and fresh, the palate shows dark berry fruit framed by supple tannins, lively acidity, and a subtle mineral snap on the finish. A lively, week-night-friendly Sicilian red that punches above its weight.

About the Producer

The Paladino family founded Cantine Alcesti in 2003 after generations of vine-growing. Farming 30 ha on breezy, clay-limestone slopes above Marsala, they champion organic practices and native grapes. “Isola del Satiro” is their flagship everyday line—named after the famous bronze “Dancing Satyr” recovered from nearby coastal waters, symbolizing western Sicily’s ancient, free-spirited culture.
