Tasting Note:
Brij’s 2025 SLO Coast Pinot Noir is a vibrant, expressive example of cool-climate California Pinot Noir, emphasizing freshness and elegance over richness and extraction. Wild strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, rose petal, orange peel, and subtle coastal herbs lead into a silky, energetic palate. Bright acidity and fine tannins give the wine structure without heaviness, while a delicate savory mineral edge carries through a clean, refreshing finish. Fragrant, lively, and beautifully balanced, with enough depth for the dinner table and the freshness to enjoy with a slight chill.
About the Producer:
Brij Wines is the Central Coast project of Rajat Parr, one of California’s most influential sommeliers and winemakers. After helping establish Sandhi and Domaine de la Côte in Santa Barbara County, Parr turned his attention to the San Luis Obispo Coast, drawn to its cool maritime climate, diverse soils, and potential for expressive, lower-alcohol wines. Brij focuses on organic and regenerative farming, native fermentations, and minimal intervention, producing wines that prioritize freshness, texture, and a clear sense of place. The SLO Coast Pinot Noir captures that philosophy, offering a bright, transparent expression of California’s emerging coastal wine regions.
