Tasting Note:
GUST’s 2019 Syrah captures the savory, cool-climate character of Sonoma’s Petaluma Gap. Blackberry, black cherry, blueberry, violet, cracked black pepper, smoked meat, and dried herbs lead into a concentrated yet beautifully balanced palate. Coastal winds and cool temperatures preserve freshness, while fine tannins and subtle oak spice provide structure. Rich without feeling heavy, with a long, peppery finish that recalls the Northern Rhône.

About the Producer:
GUST Wines is a small-production project from the Cline family, focused on cool-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah from Sonoma County’s Petaluma Gap. Founded by Fred Cline’s children, Megan and Hilary, the winery highlights the region’s distinctive combination of coastal winds, fog, and long growing seasons. These conditions allow grapes to develop flavor while retaining natural acidity, producing wines with freshness, structure, and aromatic complexity. GUST’s Syrah showcases the savory, peppery character that makes the Petaluma Gap particularly compelling for Rhône varieties.
