Tasting Note:
Clemens Busch’s 2024 Riesling Trocken is a beautifully precise expression of the Mosel, balancing vibrant citrus fruit with the region’s unmistakable slate minerality. Green apple, lime zest, white peach, grapefruit, and delicate floral notes lead into a focused, energetic palate. Bright acidity and a subtle saline character give the wine remarkable freshness, while extended lees contact adds texture and depth. Dry, mineral, and wonderfully versatile, with a long, mouthwatering finish.
About the Producer:
Clemens Busch is one of the Mosel’s most respected growers and a pioneer of organic and biodynamic viticulture in Germany. Based in Pünderich, Clemens and his wife Rita began farming organically in the 1980s, long before it became fashionable. Today, their son Johannes plays an increasingly important role at the estate. The family is particularly celebrated for its remarkable holdings in the Pündericher Marienburg vineyard, where different colors of Devonian slate produce distinctly different expressions of Riesling. Native fermentations, traditional oak foudres, and patient aging allow the wines to develop naturally, resulting in Rieslings of exceptional purity, mineral precision, and longevity.
