Tasting Notes

Powerful yet sleek. Aromas of fragrant black fruit, violet and a touch of toasted cinnamon lead into a juicy palate of blackberry, plum and garrigue herbs. Medium-bodied with lively acidity, powder-soft tannins and a savory, schist-tinged finish

Food Pairings

Herb-roasted lamb, duck confit, ratatouille with rosemary, aged sheep’s-milk cheese.

About the Producer

Colline de l’Hirondelle (“Swallow Hill”) is a tiny estate perched above the village of Douzens. Californian-born Jennifer Buck and local vigneron Didier Ferrier farm 14 ha of rugged, wind-swept vines organically, embracing minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar. “Oiseau” (“Bird”) is their flagship red—capturing the sun-drenched fruit, wild herbs and stony minerality of the Corbières in a joyful, share-worthy style.
