Tasting Note:
The 2021 La Justice is lifted, silky Gevrey—red cherry, wild strawberry, and crushed raspberry layered with rose petal, white pepper, and a faint graphite/earth note. Medium-bodied with fine, chalk-dusted tannins and lively acidity, it trades brawn for elegance, finishing long, cool, and mineral. Give it a 30-minute decant and pair with roast chicken, duck breast, mushroom dishes, or seared salmon. Cellar 5–8 years.

Founded by Oronce de Beler, La Maison Romane is a tiny, low-intervention micro-négoce working with old-vine, organically farmed fruit across the Côte d’Or. Whole clusters, native ferments, and patient élevage in mostly older barrels define the style—Pinot that’s fragrant, textural, and terroir-first. La Justice captures Gevrey’s more delicate side: perfume, precision, and limestone drive over sheer power.
