Tasting Note:
Joyous, ‘glou-glou’ Morgon with substance: ripe cherry, raspberry, and cranberry ripple with peony, warm spice, and a cool crushed-granite line. Whole-cluster, semi-carbonic fermentation brings lift and silk; acidity is bright, tannins are ultra-fine, and the finish is juicy, stony, and repeat-sip inviting. Serve lightly chilled; drink now for vibrancy or over 2–5 years for a deeper, sapid core.
About the Producer:
Pioneers of organic Beaujolais and pillars of the region’s natural-wine movement, the Lapierre family (now Mathieu & Camille) farms old-vine Gamay on decomposed granite and keeps the cellar touch feather-light. Native ferments, semi-carbonic maceration, older foudres, and minimal sulfur protect purity and place. Morgon here is about transparency and joy—granite perfume, effortless texture, and irresistible drinkability.
