Tasting Note:
Love On Mars is Cabernet with the volume turned up, but still tuned and intentional. It leads with cassis, blackberry, and dark cherry, then opens into violets, cocoa nib, and that classic pencil-shaving, cedar-leaning Cabernet detail. The palate is plush and layered without going sweet, with tannins that feel velvety but serious and a finish that stays dry, savory, and long. Give it air and it gets more aromatic and more precise. This is a steak-night bottle, but it’s also the kind of Cab that can sit at the table for hours and keep getting better.

Pied à Terre was founded by longtime New York restaurant wine director Richard Luftig with a simple mission: make real, high-quality California Cabernet without manipulation and without the “luxury tax” vibe. Love On Mars is his glam-rock cuvée, a tribute to David Bowie and a rare barrel selection that’s only bottled when a small set of barrels evolves into something distinctly more opulent and expressive than the rest.
