Blackpitts is peat with polish: campfire smoke and toasted malt up front, then lemon peel, honeyed orchard fruit, and vanilla. The Sauternes finish adds a subtle golden sweetness—think apricot, white grape, and a touch of pastry—without turning it cloying. The smoke stays present but never Islay-aggressive, and the finish lands long, gently spicy, and pleasantly dry. If someone “likes smoky whiskey” but doesn’t want to get flattened, this is a perfect bridge bottle.
How to serve:
Great neat, even better with a few drops of water to open up the fruit. Also fun in a smoky Irish Coffee or as a peat-kissed swap in a Penicillin-style cocktail.
