Tasting Note:
Fongoli’s “La Palmetta” is a beautifully expressive Grechetto that balances freshness with the grape’s naturally generous texture. Ripe pear, yellow apple, white peach, citrus blossom, chamomile, and subtle almond notes lead into a vibrant, gently rounded palate. Bright acidity and a savory mineral edge provide structure, while a delicate herbal bitterness adds complexity to the clean, persistent finish. A versatile, food-friendly Umbrian white with plenty of character.
About the Producer:
Fongoli is a historic family estate in Montefalco, Umbria, with roots dating back to the early 20th century. Today, Angelo Fongoli continues the family’s commitment to organic and biodynamic farming, indigenous grape varieties, and traditional winemaking. Working with Grechetto, Trebbiano Spoletino, Sangiovese, and Sagrantino, the estate favors spontaneous fermentations, minimal sulfur, and patient aging. “La Palmetta” showcases the freshness, texture, and savory complexity of Grechetto grown in the limestone-rich hills of Montefalco.
