Yola Mezcal is a clean and elegant expression made from 100% organic Agave angustifolia (Espadín), crafted in the highlands of Oaxaca. On the nose, it offers gentle smoke interlaced with fresh herbs, citrus blossom, and roasted agave. The palate is bright and balanced, revealing flavors of sweet agave, lemon zest, and a touch of white pepper over a soft mineral backbone. The finish is long and clean, with subtle smoke and lingering floral notes. Smooth enough for sipping, yet lively in cocktails.
About the Producer:
Founded by Yola Jimenez in collaboration with Gina Correll Aglietti and musician Lykke Li, Yola Mezcal is produced at a family palenque in San Juan del Río, following a recipe passed down from Yola’s grandfather. Distilled in small batches using traditional methods—hand-harvested agave, stone milling, open-air fermentation, and copper still distillation—Yola Mezcal is also notable for its all-female bottling facility, supporting women’s employment and empowerment in Oaxaca.
