Tasting Note:
This is “real Burgundy Chardonnay” without the makeup. 2021 brings a cooler-year kind of clarity: lemon peel, green apple, and white flowers up front, then that chalky, saline snap that makes you immediately want food. There’s a gentle nutty/leesy roundness underneath (more hazelnut than butter), but the finish stays bright, stony, and mouthwatering. Think Chablis energy with a little extra Côte de Beaune softness. Perfect with oysters, seared scallops, a lobster roll (light on the mayo), or roast chicken when you want the wine to do the heavy lifting.

About the Producer:
Domaine des Rouges-Queues is a small, soulful Burgundy estate run by Isabelle and Jean-Yves Vantey in Sampigny-lès-Maranges. They farm thoughtfully and intensely, certified organic and biodynamic, harvest by hand, ferment with native yeasts, and keep cellar work restrained with very low sulfur. The result is wine that tastes pure, alive, and clearly rooted in place.
