Tasting Note:
Eric Forest’s 2024 “L’Âme Forest” is a beautifully expressive Pouilly-Fuissé that combines the richness of southern Burgundy with remarkable freshness and mineral precision. Ripe pear, white peach, Meyer lemon, green apple, acacia, toasted hazelnut, and subtle baking spice lead into a layered, finely textured palate. Bright acidity and a firm limestone backbone balance the wine’s gentle richness, while a long, saline finish adds depth and complexity. Elegant and concentrated, with the structure to develop beautifully over the coming years.

About the Producer:
Domaine Eric Forest is a small, highly regarded estate based in Vergisson, in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. Eric represents the eighth generation of his family to cultivate vines in the Mâconnais, working with old-vine Chardonnay on the limestone-rich slopes beneath the Roche de Vergisson. His approach emphasizes meticulous vineyard work, organic farming principles, indigenous fermentations, and patient élevage in oak. The wines are known for their purity, texture, and remarkable mineral precision, offering some of the most compelling expressions of Chardonnay in southern Burgundy. “L’Âme Forest” brings together the domaine’s distinctive vineyard character in a refined, expressive Pouilly-Fuissé.
